LCO Fire Station

Hayward, WI

DBS Group designed and constructed a new, ground-up fire station in Hayward for Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwa. The 5,740-square-foot facility incorporates three apparatus bays, tool and equipment storage, dispatch, a training room and office space. This project was fast-tracked to allow the owner to take advantage of available CARES Act funding, so DBS Group leveraged our design-build expertise and experience to meet an unusually aggressive schedule while maintaining budget, quality and safety.

Their communication was proactive, and they educated me to help make smart decisions as the project progressed. Our project manager and superintendent had an incredible say/do ratio. “DBS Group’s work on our addition was phenomenal, from design through construction. They sat down with us in the beginning, learned what we wanted and needed and planned it all out so we could meet our very short time frame. The project manager was there every day and was a great communicator, letting us know what was going on throughout construction. Also, a big factor for us is that we wanted the addition to look like it was part of the original building. We get a lot of comments now from customers who say it looks like it was always meant to be there. We’re very pleased with the end product.”
